Turns translucent when warm.Provides minimum to moderate resistance to stretch to allow for varied handling techniques. Can be used for single-surface splinting or stretched circumferentially. Just overlap or pinch edges together for maximum detail when forming a gauntlet-style splint.Maximum drape means excellent conformability and reproduction of detail. Encore™ turns translucent when thoroughly heated and retains its clarity for the first few minutes of molding, allowing you to see landmarks and bony prominences.With 100% memory, Encore™ will regain its original cut shape and size every time it is reheated. Mistakes can be corrected easily.Encore™ produces moderately rigid splints. If a more flexible splint is required, simply stretch the material to achieve the desired rigidity and thickness. Choose 3/32“ Encore™ for a more flexible splint when full-thickness material is not required.Traditional coating prevents accidental bonding but retains a tacky surface that helps hold the splint in place during molding. Pieces pinched together can be pulled apart once cooled. Using only dry heat and firm pressure, Encore™ bonds firmly. Solvent may be needed to form a permanent bond. Outriggers or other additions to the splint will hold firmly even against the stress of strong dynamic components. Sticky back hook and loop straps adhere quickly to this material when dry heated.As it cools, Encore™ returns to its shiny opaque color and resists fingerprinting for a smooth, clean surface. To remove marks and bring out shine, dip in warm water or lightly heat the surface with dry heat.Use 1/8“ Encore™ for thumb, finger and hand splints, bases for dynamic splints and burn splints.
